KKR is the world’s leading private equity investment fund with over 900.000 employees in their portfolio companies. Visma is KKR’s first investment in Norway, but KKR is already the leading investor in other well-known companies as Tele Denmark, Boots Alliance and Toys’R’Us.
HgCapital, the previous majority owner of Visma, retained a significant minority ownership of 17.7% in the business and partner with KKR and management to develop Visma going forward.
Established in 2000, HgCapital is a leading investor in the European private equity market. It is the successor to Mercury Private Equity (founded in 1985), which was acquired by Merrill Lynch in 1997. In December 2000, Mercury Private Equity staff acquired the business from Merrill Lynch and renamed it HgCapital.
Management of Visma increased at the same time its ownership in the business to 5.3%.
