Agreement with StreamServe

Visma Business ASA, a wholly owned division of VISMA ASA, has entered into an agreement with StreamServe of Sweden. StreamServe is a world leader in Output Management. Today, recipients of business documents from financial management systems focus at least as much on the format and distribution channel as on the information content. The agreement with StreamServe ensures that Visma Business customers can deliver documents exactly as their own customers want them.
"Teamwork with StreamServe puts us at the forefront in streamlining document management - for electronic, print and archive documents. Visma Business customers will soon be able to send invoices via the Internet directly into their customers' financial systems. Keying in vouchers will be a thing of the past," says Bjrn Ingier of Visma Business ASA.

It is a long time since all business documents from financial management systems were dispatched to their recipients via printing, envelopes and the Post Office. At the same time, the day all business documents arrive via the Internet is far away. But Visma Business ASA has an unshakeable belief that it will come - and that the market wants this type of solution. This is why the company has now signed an agreement to integrate StreamServe's "Output Management" solution with the Visma Business financial management system in Visma Business ASA.
Gartner Group analysts estimate that 90% of all the documents produced in 2002 will be designed, personalized and distributed using Output Management solutions. The StreamServe solution will take care of formatting documents such as order confirmations and invoices from the financial management system Visma Business, and will transmit them in the form chosen by the recipient.

"The market is demanding. Customers may disappear if they do not get documents in the form they want. StreamServe keeps track of customers' format and language preferences as well as the way they want to receive their documents. The data source is the Visma Business financial management system. It transfers the information to StreamServe, which handles the rest," says Ingier.
An invoice can be sent by fax, printed and mailed, printed on a printer with an IP address at the customer site, etc. StreamServe can even send XML-coded documents containing information that can be inserted directly into the customer's own financial system.

"The market has now been talking about the importance of EDI - electronic data interchange - for 20 years. XML is becoming a standard for this. With StreamServe, we can offer our customers this functionality long before our competitors do," says Ingier.
