Visma acquires nationwide Swedish retail service company 

By acquiring EssCom Service AB, Visma Retail now provides nationwide on-site service for Visma’s retail customers in Sweden.

Headquartered in Stockholm, EssCom offers technical service and maintenance throughout the country. Visma Retail and EssCom have until now cooperated as partners. The acquisition strengthens Visma’s service operations as well as the overall offering to the leading retail chains in the Nordics.

In combination with EssCom’s well-established organisation across the country, who service such as betting terminals for Svenska Spel and ATG, it is safe and secure for our customers to let us manage their entire solutions," says Visma CEO Øystein Moan.

The acquisition was carried out 27 November and the new business area will be named Visma EssCom. This makes Visma an even more complete partner within system integration and increases the focus on hardware delivery. At the same time EssComs organisation provides solid resources and expertise for large project deployments, ongoing maintenance, on-site and engineering services as well as logistics.

Visma Retail consists of companies in Sweden, Norway and Denmark with many of the major retail chains in the Nordics on the customer list. With the acquisition of EssCom, this division of Visma now offers 350 Retail experts to its customers. In 2010 Visma Retail including Esscom will have revenues of about 500 MNOK in the Nordic market.
