Visma invests in solutions for procurement and tendering and acquires Swedish company

The OPIC Group is now a part of Visma’s well established business area for purchasing and tendering solutions.

As a part of Visma’s investments in complete solutions for procurement and tendering, the Group has now acquired OPIC, which is one of Sweden's largest providers of tendering solutions. With an annual turnover of more than SEK 60 million, the OPIC Group is now a part of Visma’s well established business area for purchasing and tendering solutions, Visma Procurement & Collecting.

“Complete and efficient solutions for procurement and tendering form a very important business area for Visma, as we have identified considerable potential within this market area – not least for Nordic companies in general – which are offered savings both as a part of the procurement process itself as well as through better procurement prices. Thus, for Visma it is important to increase our investments within this area, both through organizational and structural activities. On this basis we have established a business area in Visma for solutions like this. It underlines our commitment and the potential we have identified within this area,” says Øystein Moan, CEO of Visma, and adds:

“This acquisition makes us an even stronger provider of efficient online solutions for procurement and tendering for customers within the private and public sectors. Products and services that streamline and simplify the procurement and tendering processes for our customers is high priority for us,” says Øystein Moan.

OPIC is Sweden's leading experts on business relations between those conducting procurements within the public sector and their suppliers. Since the business was established in 1999, the company has grown to become a consolidated group with more than 70 employees in cities like Linköping, Stockholm, Halmstad and Vilnius in Lithuania. In 2009 the group came in with a turnover of more than SEK 60 million, which represents an increase of 28 percent from the year before.

“We have been profitable since the start-up and on this basis we have developed the business in order to become the market leader in Sweden. In order to take the next big step towards an international market, we need an industrial partner large enough to support such a strategic move. As Scandinavia's leading supplier of software and services for finance and administration, Visma is just that for us. Visma has achieved a solid market position and have the necessary infrastructure available for us to develop the way we want to going forward,” says Daniel Eriksson, CEO of OPIC.

OPIC offers a wide range of services assisting both buyers and sellers with procurement and tendering. The business consists of four areas, which are information services, training, consulting services and tendering solutions.

“The deal with Visma makes us even better positioned to fulfil our future strategy as well as creating new development opportunities for both our employees and our customers,” says the current CEO of OPIC, Daniel Eriksson.
