Visma's first-quarter results


Visma shows pre-tax profit of NOK 10.2 million for the first quarter.

The Visma Group achieved a profit before tax of NOK 10.2 million in the first quarter of 1999, compared with NOK 9.3 million for the corresponding period in 1998. Operating profit amounted to NOK 8.2 million, compared with NOK 8.6 million in 1998. Sales increased by 5% from NOK 70.1 million to NOK 73.7 million.
Shareholders' funds totalled NOK 120.3 million, corresponding to 50.4%, and cash reserves amounted to NOK 121.9 million. Current assets made up 91% of the total balance sheet, which has a highly flexible and liquid profile.
Visma Marine made good progress in the first quarter, accounting for 51% of sales and 73% of the profit.
Visma has been through a period of rationalization and concentration on profitability. The company's financial strength will allow it to invest in growth.
