Visma establishes office in Rio de Janeiro



SpecTec Inc in Miami, a wholly owned subsidiary of Visma, has entered into a letter of intent to take over the activities of PMW Engenhara LTD in Rio de Janeiro. The company will be named SpecTec Brasil. The new subsidiary will market, sell and implement Visma Marine’s products in the Brazilian and other South American markets.
SpecTec Brasil will have 10 employees. Visma Marine already has important customers in Brazil, including Petrobras.
The South American market, and Brazil in particular, is growing rapidly, and offers significant opportunities in shipping, offshore and land-based industry. For Visma Marine, presence in this market is important as part of a global strategy.
The acquisition of the business will involve a cash transaction of USD 65,000, which is equivalent to the value of the equity. The entire purchase will be undertaken by SpecTec Inc. in the USA.
