Visma takes the lead within PSA software by acquiring Severa

Visma expands the portfolio of solutions for CRM, project management, time reporting and automated billing, by acquiring the Finnish Professional Services Automation (PSA) supplier Severa Oyj.

Severa’s portfolio of solutions is offered purely as Software as a Service (SaaS), and complements Visma’s existing wide range of web based software solutions for the SME market.  

- Severa’s SaaS solutions have a strong position within the market of professional service organizations. We expect that the interest in SaaS will increase dramatically in the future, says Bjørn Ingier, Divisional Director of Visma Software.

Severa was founded in Finland in 2004, and has offices in Helsinki, Lappeenranta and Stockholm. Severa offers SaaS solutions in PSA including functionality for support in CRM, project management, time reporting, and automated billing. In 2009 Severa was listed as number 4 of the fastest growing technology companies in Finland, and in 2008 it was declared the Red Herring Global Winner. The company has 500 customers with 7,000 users in more than 10 countries.

Strategic acquisition

As a SaaS company, Severa will strengthen and complement Vismas portfolio of web based software products. With the acquisition of Severa, Visma has taken a firmer grip on the PSA software market.

Our goal is to strengthen our product portfolio and complement our expertise in the Software as a Service field. This acquisition is one of the steps in our strategy implementation.
