Shaping the future of society through technology

The nature of security threats and risks is constantly changing. Through our participation in European Cybersecurity Month for the third consecutive year, we want to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. We are addressing topics such as cybercrime, tactics that cybercriminals use such as social manipulation, and how to stay secure when working remotely.

What is European Cybersecurity month?

Since 2012, the European Union has organised an annual digital security campaign, European Cybersecurity Month (ECSM). The EU’s goal is to promote cybersecurity among private and public organisations as well as citizens throughout the region.

The top goal is to raise awareness on the basics of digital security and cyber hygiene. Throughout October, there are hundreds of activities across Europe, including conferences, workshops, trainings, webinars, and presentations. Leaders share news, best practices and the latest research and information related to online security.

Why do we participate?

The official slogan of ECSM is ‘Cybersecurity is a Shared Responsibility’, and we could not agree more. Participating is not only socially responsible and important for our global society, but also a great way to increase awareness and develop an even stronger security culture in our own organisation. This is especially important now during Covid, as people are using more digital services than ever, which can make them more vulnerable to cyber attackers.

What are our initiatives?

Visma is excited to take part in this important campaign by driving a number of external and internal cybersecurity initiatives throughout October and into the first half of November.
