Monitor the exclusive economic fishing zones (EEZ) of your state. Take advantage of an effective, accessible and easy-to-learn vessel monitoring system using GPS and satellite technology.

vTrack is an efficient and well-proven system for fisheries authorities. It shows accurate positions and data from fishing vessels and share them with a number of recipients in real time. Loss or poor handling of this data is not only costly, it is unacceptable.

Effective Users

vTrack is optimized for ease of use and fast learning for all user groups of your authority. They need to do their work fast and efficient.

Users on shore have real-time access to the system. They can see which vessels might enter the harbour on a given day. With this information it is easier to determine which vessels may require a closer look and plan an inspection.

You can decide which groups of users are needed and assign relevant rights. Typical groups are employees on shore, patrol vessels at sea, neighbouring countries and fisheries authorities. The number of users or user groups is unlimited and included in the server price.

vTrack is designed with special attention to the users. We regularly invite the customers to workshops, to get their input on how we can make vTrack even better.

Real-time VMS Data via Satellite

Inspectors aboard patrol vessels have exactly the same access to the system as users stationed at the harbour. Patrol vessel users connect via satellite with minimal loss in response time due to the system's optimization for slow connections.

Knowing the actual and former positions of all relevant vessels in a certain area is crucial in order to plan and optimize the time spent on inspections at sea.

Data Analysis Reports

Most often, users want to use historical information as input to reports or different kinds of calculations. When historical data is found and displayed on a map, they can be exported directly to spreadsheets or statistical applications.

The system has a number of activity reports. One of these reports is the documentation of positions received from and transmitted to other countries within a certain period of time. The reports verifies the activities of vessels in various areas at various times.

If a vessel owner is questioned in a court of law, the data from vTrack contained in an activity report can be used as evidence. Since the original positions received from the vessels are stored without any modification in the database, the risk that vTrack has calculated incorrectly is eliminated. From a legal perspective the data is accurate.

Monitoring Many Vessels

You need a powerful tool to monitor a large numbers of vessels. With vTrack, your fisheries authority gets the overview with a number of reports, e.g. 'missing data episodes', 'data delay warnings' and 'current active flag states'. You can also group vessels as a quick and efficient way to perform targeted control.

As a user from a fisheries authority, you specify and monitor alarms and missing transmissions.

Saving Resources

vTrack minimize the tasks for the IT administrators. Each client only needs a web browser from one of the major browser vendors without any plug-ins. In addition, the vTrack super-users create new users, which do not require any involvement from the IT administrator.

An upgrade of the system is another task, which may otherwise typically require considerable time and IT resources. Upgrades for vTrack are server side only, eliminating the need to plan, and perform client side upgrades. This also eliminates typical compatibility problems with upgraded backend and older clients.

vTrack has been designed for and tested by fisheries authorities. It has proven its efficiency and ease of use at all customer sites.

Flexible Data Exchange

You have the ability to change the data exchange format between countries without calling IT developers. This feature also enables position information to be send to new countries in new exchanges formats, as well as to other public authorities in completely different formats including e-mail, SMS or XML.
