Following a historic season, containing an unprecedented three Grand Tour victories, Team Jumbo-Visma will continue as Team Visma | Lease a Bike. After five years as second title sponsor, Visma will be the team’s first title sponsor from the 2024 season.
“We are delighted to announce that Visma is the new first title sponsor for Jonas Vingegaard, Wout van Aert, Sepp Kuss, Marianne Vos, Fem van Empel and all the other fantastic athletes and staff that have developed into the best cycling team the world has ever seen”, says Merete Hverven, CEO of Visma.
Lease a Bike is co-owned by Dutch family-multinational Pon and Volkswagen Financial Services, and joined the team as a sub-sponsor on 1 January 2023.
“It’s been quite a journey so far, and we’re already looking forward to the next chapter together with our new sponsorship partner Lease a Bike”, Hverven adds.
Increasing footprint in Europe
For Visma, Europe’s leading provider of mission-critical cloud software, the renewed sponsorship agreement further demonstrates the Group’s commitment to teamwork, determination and operational excellence.
“Sponsoring Team Visma | Lease a Bike supports our strategy of increasing our company’s footprint in Europe, both in current and new potential markets. This global sponsorship not only allows us to advocate for the importance of values like teamwork and an active lifestyle, but also fosters internal pride and enhances brand awareness”, Hverven adds.
Improving with software
In addition to financial support, Visma will continue to provide the team with software to improve both sporting and business performance.
“As a technology company, we are especially proud of how our AI solution has nearly doubled the team’s accuracy in predicting nutritional needs for riders, helping them to further boost endurance”, says Hverven.
Managing director of future Team Visma | Lease a Bike, Richard Plugge, says:
“We are delighted to confirm our new sponsorship agreement with Visma and Lease a Bike, two strong companies that we already enjoy an excellent relationship with. These evolving partnerships are another big step forward, ensuring that we have the resources to further develop and improve as a team. Last year, we proved once again that we can grow and be successful together. This is also our common long-term goal.”
On Thursday, 21 December, Team Visma | Lease a Bike will present its riders, main goals and new corporate identity to the media and partners at Move Amsterdam.
