Visma has acquired a majority stake in Declarando, the fastest-growing accountancy and tax software company for Spanish freelancers. The deal strengthens Visma’s growing presence in Spain.
Launched in 2016, Declarando helps its customers to save money and time, combining technology and a savvy team of tax lawyers. The platform was designed exclusively for freelancers and aims to simplify the invoicing, accountancy, bookkeeping, taxes and financial control of thousands of small business owners.
"In less than 5 years, we're proud to say we've helped our clients save over 50M€. But this is just the beginning for us. By joining Visma, we will be able to invest in the team and technology that allow us to contribute to the autonomy and peace of mind of our community of freelancers," said Marta Zaragozá, Declarando’s CEO.
The Castellon-based company will continue to operate as an independent entity, with founders Marta Zaragozá, Juanjo Traver and Vicente Solsona staying on board. Declarando has previously raised 2.7M€ from Sabadell Venture Capital, Bankinter, Encomenda VC and JME, who will remain as partners in the start-up.
“We believe that Visma is the perfect match at this stage of our journey. Declarando will get the support and experience from one of the 5 largest European software companies that will facilitate our mission of having a major impact in the life of Spanish freelancers,” said Marta.
"We are extremely pleased to welcome Declarando to Visma," said Ari-Pekka Salovaara, Visma's Segment Director for SMB. "Their efforts to simplify the financial control of Spanish freelancers will fit right in with Visma's mission to be a trusted partner for European entrepreneurs. We will learn a lot from each other, and at the end of the day it is the customers who will benefit".
