Visma enters Brazil with acquisition of Conta Azul, a leading cloud ERP provider for SMBs

Visma, a leading provider of mission-critical business software across Europe and Latin America, today announces its entry into the Brazilian market through the acquisition of Conta Azul, a fast growing cloud ERP financial management system tailored for small businesses and accounting offices.

Through the acquisition, Visma expands its footprint in Latin America with existing operations in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru – underscoring its commitment to supporting the expansion of innovative cloud-based solutions across the region.

Conta Azul is a comprehensive platform for back-office automation, purpose-built for small businesses and accounting offices. The platform streamlines key operations such as cash flow management, invoicing, budgeting, inventory tracking, and financial reporting.

Empowering Brazilian businesses

Brazil, South America’s largest economy, presents a complex and rapidly evolving landscape for the accounting needs of micro-businesses and SMBs. These businesses play a fundamental role in Brazil’s economic development, but business software penetration remains low. Conta Azul’s all-in-one financial platform can support small businesses in navigating this complex environment.

For accounting offices, Conta Azul enhances collaboration with clients, simplifies financial reviews, tax compliance, and record adjustments, and strengthens business-accountant relationships through improved accuracy and transparency.

Serving approximately 100,000 SMBs, Conta Azul is recognized as one of the leading players in Brazil’s large, fragmented, and structurally growing market, with a strong brand and reputation.

Strategic fit for long-term growth

“This acquisition is a milestone for Visma in Latin America. We have been highly impressed by the quality of Conta Azul’s solutions, and consider their innovative platform and strong market position as an ideal foundation for our long-term growth in Brazil,” said Merete Hverven, CEO of Visma. “We are happy to be partnering with the Conta Azul team and look forward to working with them to continue the company’s impressive growth journey and unlock new opportunities for innovation and expansion to the benefit of SMBs and accounting offices across Brazil”.

Vínicius Roveda, CEO and Co-Founder of Conta Azul, added: "Joining forces with Visma marks a pivotal moment for Conta Azul. With Visma’s comprehensive resources and expertise, we are well-equipped to enhance our offering as well as expand our reach and impact in Brazil.”

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including approval from Brazil’s competition authority.
