With the acquisition, Visma strengthens its offering in Italy by adding a complementary range of regulatory compliance services tailored to the needs of accounting offices, notaries, and law firms. Alavie has successfully grown its presence in Italy to become the preferred choice for accounting offices, and the company currently serves thousands of customers across the country.
Empowering Italian accounting offices
Italy has a highly fragmented market of more than 120,000 tax advisors and accountants, who serve the needs of more SMBs than any other country in the EU. Verifying client identities is a critical area for accounting offices and professional service firms, but many lack the scale to have in-house Know Your Customer (KYC) and AML compliance expertise and do not have access to digitally enabled tools.
Alavie’s flagship platform, Laegis AML, automates up to 95% of manual compliance processes, continuously monitors client changes, and provides proactive alerts - enabling professionals to stay compliant without deep AML expertise inhouse. The company also offers GDPR privacy tools and is expanding into new verticals with Laegis Notary, a platform specially designed for notary offices, launching in 2025.
