As announced in late November, Visma has reinforced its support of the reigning Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España champions. From 1 January 2024, the world’s best cycling team will ride on as Team Visma | Lease a Bike.
Today, Team Visma | Lease a Bike presented its riders, main goals and new corporate identity to media and partners at an event in Amsterdam.
Sporting ambitions remain as high as ever, with an intention to shine in the spring classics, going for stage wins in the Giro d'Italia, aiming for a third consecutive Tour de France final victory and, as defending champions, aiming high in the Vuelta a España.
"These are ambitious goals that you can expect from our team. We want to continue to make sporting history", says Team Visma | Lease a Bike sporting director Merijn Zeeman.
Vingegaard extends until end of 2028
In addition to the sporting challenges for 2024, the team also announced that cyclocross world champion Fem van Empel, Vuelta winner Sepp Kuss and two-time Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard have extended their outstanding contracts.
Kuss and Van Empel have signed a commitment through 2027, while Vingegaard has extended his contract until the end of 2028.
“I feel very much at home with this team, and with our approach that has brought us much success. That's why I'm happy to extend my contract again. My future is here, and I am proud of that", said Vingegaard.
New logo and jersey
Team Visma | Lease a Bike also launched its new logo and jersey for the 2024 cycling season during the team presentation.
With the combination of Visma and Lease a Bike as first and second title sponsors respectively, a new start is being made that builds on everything the team has achieved and built up in recent years.
This is emphatically expressed in the team's livery, in which yellow and black still predominate.
