Holded is a cloud ERP system for the SMB segment. Founded by Javier Fondevila and Bernat Ripoll in 2016, they’re consolidating their position as the leading cloud ERP in Spain. The company joined Visma in 2021 and counts 150 employees, helping more than 80,000 companies across Spain thrive at what they do.

Tell us a little bit about Holded, and your story prior to joining Visma?
We founded Holded after feeling the pain of legacy software in our own skin. We wanted to create the first cloud ERP that users love. When we started, there was already a lot of competition, the incumbents and some startups that were trying to do something new in the space. Our obsession about delivering the best product made us grow faster than the others. In less than four years we were leading the Spanish market in our segment.
Why did you decide to affiliate with Visma?
We had multiple companies wanting to buy us. After meeting all the parties in depth, we knew we wanted to go with Visma because of their incredible unit economics. We also shared their vision on how to conquer the market and their mindset on how to operate with the different companies of the group.

How did you go about onboarding your company and employees?
We shared our excitement about joining Visma with our team. It’s been super smooth and easy, only good things have been coming in. Ever since the acquisition, we’ve learned a lot from other Visma companies on the mission to conquer our home market. It’s helped us to focus even more on what's important.
How do you experience your own autonomy and go-to-market freedom?
We think Visma has a perfect approach on giving the MDs the freedom they need to operate, yet providing support and resources from the group. This helps us avoid mistakes and focus on what matters.
What are the advantages of belonging to a larger group of software companies?
Being part of Visma allows us to meet lots of people who are on the same mission as us, but in different markets. This is great because we can exchange information with one another, since we’re not competing for the same customers. For example, we’ve learned a lot from other Visma companies on how to open and grow the accounting office channel, with real data, numbers and strategies.
