Visma, a global leader in mission-critical business software, announces the appointment of Stian Svendsen as new Segment Director for Public from 1 March 2026.
Svendsen joined Visma in 2009, and has since held several senior roles in the Group, most recently as a Business Area Director within the Public segment.
“I’m delighted to announce Stian Svendsen as our new Segment Director for Public. With his deep operational experience and proven leadership, I am confident that Stian is the right person to lead the segment into its next chapter, and drive further growth for our SaaS solutions across the public sector in Europe” says Merete Hverven, CEO of Visma.
Visma’s Public segment is a leading software provider to local governments across the Nordic countries and the Netherlands, with solutions ranging from financial management (FMS) and payroll to school management systems. Employing 3,200 people and serving 34,000 customers, the Public segment achieved revenue of 595 million euros in 2025, representing 19 percent of the Group total of 2.8 billion euros.
Starting his career as a teacher and school leader in the Norwegian school system, Svendsen has first-hand experience of the value high-quality digital tools can bring to both public workers and citizens.
“Having been part of the Visma family since 2009, I have seen how our technology transforms the way the public sector operates. I am honored to lead the Public segment into its next phase of growth. My goal is to ensure we continue to deliver mission-critical SaaS solutions that simplify the lives of public workers and the citizens they serve across our core markets. I look forward to driving our collective success further as I take on the total responsibility for the segment”, says Stian Svendsen, Segment Director for Public at Visma.
