In 2025, Visma continued to strengthen its international footprint through the acquisitions of 28 outstanding software companies across Europe and Latin America. Notable M&A highlights included market entry in Brazil, South America’s largest economy, through the addition of Conta Azul, a leading cloud ERP provider for SMBs, and strengthening the Group’s core offering in Continental Europe through acquisitions like Evoliz (France) and the minority investment in Accountable (Belgium).

An AI-powered ecosystem
Visma’s AI transformation continued at full pace in 2025, with this technology now connecting every layer of Visma’s federated ecosystem as a driver of product excellence, operational scale, and long-term competitiveness, making life for its customers easier - the cornerstone of its mission.

“We are already delivering tangible value both to our customers through our AI based automation and advisory solutions, while internally, we are realising significant productivity gains that allows us to scale key functions more efficiently than before”, Hverven adds.

Visma currently has 250 product-related AI initiatives live across the Group, with highlights including:

  • Smartscan, Visma’s proprietary AI technology for document intelligence and data extraction, reduces human involvement in document processing by 93%, and outperforms a generic leading LLM by over 30%.
  • Taxy.io’s multi-agent Gen-AI system for regulated expert work, focused on tax and legal domains in the German market, has solved over 10 million tax cases and filed over 1 million tax declarations since going live in 2023.
  • Productivity benefits from AI in engineering have enabled Visma to increase deployment frequency by 3x.

Visma’s decentralised model, consisting of 170+ business units spread across the globe, continues to fuel innovation and knowledge synergies. A successful AI solution developed by one business unit is quickly adopted and localised by others.

“To harness this innovation at scale, we combine local autonomy with central guidance, providing us with a structure that ensures knowledge sharing, safe and compliant deployments, and prevents innovation from becoming siloed. I remain hugely excited about AI, as we are using the technology to drive even greater innovation, and create even better and more valuable solutions for our customers”, says Hverven.
