In late March, thousands of employees will join Visma’s internal AI conference. We sat down with Rasmus Bendtsen, Manager of the AI Native Workforce Transformation team, to discuss the shift towards agentic workflows and how Visma’s unique portfolio effect is turning global AI trends into local competitive advantages.

Last year, Visma’s AI conference drew a staggering 18,000 viewers. It was a clear signal: the hunger for AI knowledge across our 170+ companies is massive. As we approach the 2026 edition, the goal has matured.

True to this year’s theme, the focus has moved away from the initial excitement of generative AI and towards a more disciplined approach: "Zero hype, pure value."

Bridging the gap: from technology to business value

For Bendtsen, the mission is about making the complex tangible. With an engineering background and years of experience in product innovation, his role is to bridge the gap between AI’s technical potential and actual business results.

"It’s about identifying how AI can drive value and communicating that to leadership and employees alike," Bendtsen explains. "Our goal for 2026 is to move companies along the maturity curve from simple AI assistance to being truly AI agent-enabled."

The power of the portfolio effect

One of Visma’s greatest competitive advantages is the ability to learn at scale. While a single software company might struggle to catch the attention of global tech giants, Visma’s collective muscle opens doors to exclusive partnerships.

"We are unique in the way we combine the strength of 170+ companies into one unified organisation. That scale gives us a massive advantage in partnering with the biggest AI vendors in the world".

But the real impact happens internally. The conference provides a confidential space where companies share "blueprints" of their successes. A breakthrough in one company can quickly become actionable knowledge for another, allowing the entire group to leapfrog the typical trial-and-error phase.

2026: the shift to agentic workflows

The conversation is moving away from "who can write the best prompt" to "who can execute the fastest." This is the year of agentic workflows.

"We don’t want to get stuck in 'assisted AI' where humans still have to manually orchestrate every task," Bendtsen notes. "We are moving towards delegating outcomes to agents that can plan, execute, and learn. This creates hybrid teams where digital colleagues handle end-to-end workflows 24/7, leaving humans to focus on judgement, strategy, and the emotional intelligence that goes into every decision."

Real-world 10x gains

This isn't just theory; it is already happening within the Visma ecosystem. Across the group, we are seeing several examples where AI agents have unlocked up to 10x efficiency gains by transforming how we handle complex tasks. For instance, in the field of digital accessibility, AI-powered assistants have democratised compliance by reducing audit times by a factor of eight, effectively scaling expert capacity from just two to a dozen specialists.

Similarly, by implementing AI-driven automation across HR, Customer Success, and Product Development, we have managed to reduce manual processes that previously took hours to mere seconds. These leaps in productivity are supported by an AI-first approach that has been in place since 2023, resulting in dozens of autonomous agents already operating in production. Today, these solutions serve over 150,000 businesses, proving that agentic workflows are no longer a future promise, but a current reality that drives massive value for our customers.

The end goal: confidence and clarity

When the virtual curtains close on the final day of the conference, Bendtsen hopes for one specific takeaway for every Visma employee:

"I want everyone to walk away feeling better informed about what the future brings. They should leave with tangible cases and practical tools they can implement the very next day. It’s about moving beyond the buzzwords and into a future where AI is a natural, high-performing part of how we work."

Driving the future of SaaS

At Visma, our internal AI conference is more than just a learning event; it is a cornerstone of our strategy to remain the leading European provider of business-critical software. By fostering a culture of radical knowledge-sharing and rapid technological adoption, we ensure that every innovation within our group directly translates into smarter, more efficient products for our customers across the globe.
